Congratulations to AUS-ACA National Finalists The Grammarphones from Toowoomba Grammar School!
Their qualifying performance contained spirited renditions of Billy Joel’s “For the Longest Time” and “Kiss the Girl” (from Disney’s The Little Mermaid). Both tunes were bursting with gentlemanly charm and panache that is sure to capture many hearts at the National Finals. “For the Longest Time” featured singers Jonathan Joshi, Kenny Han, Mason Watts and Chris Paton navigating a demanding melodic line through a mix of solos and duets. The group utilized clever movements throughout the song that gave way to “Kiss the Girl,” a fun ensemble piece in which the group creatively depicted a lilting seascape through ambient sounds, crooning harmonies, and tongue-in-cheek choreography.
