ABOUT CHAMPIONS OF HARMONY: NATIONAL BARBERSHOP CONVENTION
You are invited to come along to Barbershop Harmony Australia’s 12th National Convention, which is being hosted by Australia’s finest all-male choir, Vocal Evolution, at the Perth Convention & Entertainment Centre Perth from 9-13 October 2013.
The four-day National Barbershop Convention is a joyous celebration of music, friendship, competition and fun, made up of school competitions, quartet competitions, and chorus competitions, all leading up to the grand finale concert, being held at 7.30pm on Saturday 12 October 2013 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, the ‘Showcase of Champions’.
The culmination of three days of glorious singing and two years of intense preparation, the Showcase of Champions features the winning acts from the Convention, and also features the internationally renowned barbershop quartets, the Musical Island Boys and Lunch Break.
The International Quartet Silver Medallists, the Musical Island Boys, continue to deliver dazzling performances of vocal range and skill, entertaining both young and old with their dynamic polyphony and immaculate delivery of the craft. Audiences as far reaching as Sweden, Holland, Korea, Japan, the United States and Canada, and throughout the world have enjoyed the rich tapestry of sound created by the quartet. Their commitment to personal excellence, as well as their infectiously energetic style of performance makes the Musical Island Boys one of the most distinctive and unique quartets in the world today.
Lunch Break began singing together during the summer of 2007 just for fun during their lunch break, and haven’t stopped since. Combining humor, youthful energy, and good old fashioned barbershop harmony, Lunch Break brings a unique brand of entertainment to audiences of all ages. Lunch Break’s repertoire includes barbershop, jazz, gospel, folk-hip-hop-fusion, and their side-splittingly silly delivery will leave you rolling in the aisles!
Tickets to this once-in-a-lifetime show are only available through Ticketek at http://www.ticketek.com.au/ and search “barbershop”. We would love to see all of our fellow singers and choirs come along for a memorable night of good harmony singing, camaraderie and great entertainment!

You are not tied to a specific curriculum and have the freedom to enjoy whatever your heart desires. The members of the faculty are today’s legends that we will be talking about tomorrow. The classes are more fun than you know what to do with and the extra curricular activities, the late night tagging, and all the Ice Cream you can eat will make you long for more hours in the day!
All different kinds of singers attend attend…new members, seasoned members, young members, directors, assistant directors, quartet singers, music educators, administrators, and many more – and this year we have opened up the doors to anyone who’d like to come and learn more about singing close harmony.
