Vocal Australia is running a Contemporary A Cappella Competition and Workshop for Secondary School aged vocal groups on Wednesday 14 March, 2012.  The competition will be run as part of our GET VOCAL 2012 Festival (13-18 March) at Chapel off Chapel, Prahran.

There will be two divisions for Secondary School Aged Vocal Groups.

As part of the days activities will be running an A Cappella Workshop for all competition participants.  The Workshop sessions will cover an introduction to contemporary a cappella focusing on Vocal Percussion / Beat-Boxing Basics and Performance Craft.

COMPETITION ENTRY AND WORKSHOP FEES

DIVISION FEE CONDITIONS
Vocal Bands (3-10 Singers) $130 per group This rate includes Competition Entry plus access to the Workshop for all students participating in the competition
Choral Ensembles (11-30 Singers) $200 per group This rate includes Competition Entry plus access to the Workshop for all students participating in the competition
Workshop ONLY $7 per student This rate is for additional students who would like to attend the workshop ONLY.

 

NOTES

  1. Songs must be performed a cappella (without instruments).
  2. Body and Vocal Percussion/ Beat-boxing are permitted.
  3. Competition Songs must consist of popular contemporary repertoire.
  4. Songs must be performed in at least 3 part harmony.
  5. Competition Participants must be Secondary School Age.
